Low Sodium Products & Other Companies We ♥
From time to time we might mention, shout out, or incorporate the following companies’ products or venues into our blog – to be clear, we’re not paid to do so, nor do we receive any ad revenue*. If we blog about or link to the following folks, it’s because we truly like, buy, and use their products (or frequent their venues) on a regular basis. In short, when we have an opinion – it is strictly our own.

. | Attune Foods – We were first introduced to Attune while attending the International Food Bloggers’ Conference in 2011.We especially love their Erewhon low sodium and no salt added cereals; and Uncle Sam cereals. Most recently, I’ve gotten myself hooked (@ the first bite) on their Attune Dark Chocolate Probiotic bars (0 mg sodium/serving). attunefoods.com |

Safest Choice™ – Being in the “transplant space”, we’ve known about and eaten Safest Choice™ pasteurized eggs for a quite a while. Their eggs help make our breakfasts tasty and fun. Safest Choice™ eggs go through a patented, all natural, award-winning egg pasteurization process, making them a popular choice for people who fall into what the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) refers to as a “highly susceptible” risk category:

Tampico is a local Los Angeles, CA spice company whom we’ve known personally for years. We’ve hung out and toured their plant, and we’ve cooked with and eaten a fair amount of their ground chiles, paprikas, and other spices in our home. We’ve actually learned some of their secret “cooking” techniques to getting better flavor with certain spices.. sadly, you’ll have to kill us first before you get their spicy secrets! tampicospice.com

It’s tough not to love Whole Foods Market. They’re always there waiting for us with arms wide open (its’ great for us, since we live right down the street from our local WHM). Read more about Whole Foods in our Carlsbad Oyster Adventures / Oyster Stew Recipe (and see our local seafood guys!) .

Foodista does a great job of inspiring us all. We’ve attended the past 2 years’ International Food Blogger’s Conference. It’s a fun way to meet new bloggers, sponsors and keynote speakers.foodista.com

As a result of frequently using their products, going to their stores, or attending/meeting them at blogger conferences (etc.), we’ve established a different level of communication with many of the above listed. On occasion, some may provide free product that we pass along as a courtesy to “our readers” in the form of “giveaways” or promotions. As our blog reader, giveaways are a great opportunity to try out a new product or venue, fall in love and discover your own path. In the background, it takes a lot of time to coordinate everyone’s efforts, timing, and logistics (which coincidentally, we also don’t get paid for). Helping bring people and great products/companies together is our way of providing “extra love” to you, our readers, and to our food friends listed above. We wouldn’t do this for just anyone. * P.S. You’ll notice that our blog is generally “ad free”. Some bloggers are paid by companies to “link” to products/companies/services or display banner ads – we prefer to keep things (including our general blog design) clean; we’re not paid to embed links or display banner ads (likewise, nor will we simply “link” to just anyone’s product/venue/service). Additionally, fyi , bloggers are supposed to disclose when they receive compensation in exchange for an endorsement - i.e., “sponsored” posts, per FTC guidelines.
